Lead Service Technician
ChefTek, LLC is Denver Metro and Colorado’s premier commercial repair specialists. We service marque establishments, businesses, restaurants, breweries, and grocery stores; performing work on HVAC, cold side equipment, hot side equipment, ice machines, and specialty appliances.
The Lead Service Technician is a field leadership position with room for career growth. The Lead Technician is responsible for operating a company vehicle to and from customer sites to perform complex repairs on commercial hot side and cold side equipment as well as being a vision of good for less experienced technicians through coaching and mentoring. The Lead Technician will also provide exceptional customer service with the ability to handle complex customer issues and must be able to work independently with little to no supervision. Responsibilities
Approximately 70% of the time:
Perform complex repairs on commercial kitchen (hot side, refrigeration, ice machines, specialty appliances) and HVAC equipment
Ordering, installing, and efficient use of parts for repairs; maintaining vehicle maintenance
Complete administrative duties such as accurate note-taking, follow up with customers, technicians as well as office staff
Effectively maintain proper inventory levels for your vehicle and/ or jobs performed
Safety conscious. Your safety is our top priority; technicians will perform work and techniques with this in mind
Approximately 30% of the time:
Perform leadership duties with customers and technicians as needed which may include facilitating cross-training, responding to technical support calls, coaching and development, and solving complex customer issues or escalations
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
3 years experience (commercial or residential appliance and HVAC repair & maintenance OR similar experience within plumbing, electrical, or construction)
2 years of leadership experience in business, military or associated fields (including: supervision of direct or indirect reports, mentorship, training and development, or coaching)
EPA Certification
Current valid driver's license and clean driving record
Highly motivated and self-sufficient to follow through on duties and assignments with little to no supervision
Exceptional organizational, customer service, and communication skills
High proficiency to navigate computer, tablet, smart phone based technology
Ability to lift or move up to 75 lbs. with/without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years experience (commercial or residential appliance and HVAC repair & maintenance OR similar experience within plumbing, electrical, or construction)
2 years experience as a direct Supervisor or Manager in business, military or associated fields
1 year project management experience within this industry or related fields
Prior sales experience handling customer walkthroughs, project estimates, and closing the sale
Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA) certification
North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification
Bi-lingual English and Spanish speaking is a plus
Physical Demands
This work occasionally requires walking, standing, squatting, bending, sitting, kneeling, reaching overhead and twisting for the duration of the workday. Other requirements are the ability to climb ladders, work from heights and crawl in tight quarters
Must be able to use your hands for tool usage, installation of parts, and moving equipment
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive Base Pay
40 hours per week, paid overtime available
Schedule: M-F (8 hours a day), Tu-Sat (8 hours a day), or four 10 hour days
Quarterly bonuses available based on performance
